Whether you’re completely new to opera or looking to deepen your appreciation of the art form, Introduction to Opera History is an engaging and accessible three-part online course that explores how opera has evolved over more than 400 years.

Journey through opera’s fascinating progression from its beginnings in the early Baroque period to the diverse and innovative works of today. Alon the way, you’ll discover the composers, artistic traditions, historical events, cultural influences, and societal changes that have shaped one of the world’s most enduring art forms.

This is not a formal lecture course. Instead, each session is designed to be relaxed, interactive, and conversational. Participants are encouraged to ask questions, share observations, and engage in discussion throughout the class, creating an enjoyable learning experience for opera lovers of all levels.
